We’re doing a lot of work at the moment supporting various public sector and government agencies with both citizen relationship management and also the more mundane marketing communications type services to customers and stakeholders in the sector. We find that CRM in the public sector is a much more complex activity than in the private sector as the stakeholders objectives are often much more varied and diverse than simple ROI calculations. It makes the potential solution much more exciting but also a challenge to implement.
Firstly from a customer perspective the relationship the customer (citizen) has with the public body is a very complex one; often not simply defined by a monetary exchange. The interactions can be forced, stressed or intensive and the various information and communication needs extremely varied. It means that there is certainly never a “one size fits all” approach particularly in the CRM system sense. It is also often the case that the scale of the system itself is daunting!
From a change management perspective the picture is just as challenging. Decision making processes are thorough but take a long time and the various internal stakeholders often have extremely varied needs and requirements.

Only few web and internet design companies truly understand the importance bottom up design on search engine positioning, the customer experience and effective web-marketing. Nice Design is one of those companies. That is why we chose them to design our website using great design, sound principles and agreed standards. It is also why where our clients need an effective web based solution for online sales and marketing it is Nice Design that we turn to.

Not only do we have a lot to say but we also live in a fast moving a changing world. That means we’ve chosen a blog based site to not only keep you up to date with what we’re doing but also so that we can quickly add and change information about us, the work we’ve done and who we’re working with.

If you are new to blogging there are plenty of sites out there who can get you up to speed with the business benefits of using blogs to talk to your customers and prospective customers. Search engine friendly, easy to read and navigate, they offer a great way of communicating complex and in depth messages.

We are currently working with a large professional services company to deploy a company wide crm implementation based upon salesforce.com. Salesforce is a hosted crm package which means that you rent access to the system and access it via a web browser. Hosted solutions have grown dramatically in popularity in recent years and now all of the major crm vendors have a hosted solution to offer clients.
